Synopsis: An American soldier is shot in the head during the Gulf War, but comes back to life after being pronounced dead. A year later, he helps a woman and daughter fix their car, then hitches a lift with a man who turns out to be a fugitive. There is a gunfight with the police and the protagonist blacks out. When he awakes he is accused of murder and told that the fugitive and the mother and daughter did not exist. He is found not guilty due to insanity and is placed in the care of a menacing psychologist.
